The croquettes / food trick doesn't work! He's so spoilt, he's not hungry enough! I would have to starve him first!!

Sometimes the neighbours cats try to get through the flap but our stray likes all the cats in the neighbourhood. In fact he brings his pals round all the time! Also, when we adopted him he came with his favourite playmate, also a stray, so we adopted them both. The other one is fine with the cat flap, it's just this one who seems to think it only works in one direction! I'll try the croquettes trick, see if that works! Thanks for the advice.

We had the same problem. If you put some (favourite) 'croquettes' like Friskies on the other side and open the flap so that he sees them, this can encourage him to go through it to the inside. Our cat (also adopted) soon got used to going in and out, so don't give up!

Does the cat flap smell of a previous cat ? Maybe it is because he was previously a stray and he is waiting to be invited in ? Great to hear that he has a new home.
