Capture them in cat traps then take them to the vet to be sterilized, that's the solution.  I can't believe a vet told you to tranquilized them!  That rarely works because they just get drowsy and go off and sleep somewhere!  We dealt with 375 cats last year in our trap/neuter/release program.  Go to our website.

What does one do about stray/feral cats in one's garden - some about to have more kittens very soon - again??! I have always had feral cats since day one and feed them when here but they do not belong to anyone and I do not want any more. Pehaps it was a big mistake to have ever started feeding them! I have never had any put down but the situation may soon be a case of too many cats! Any advice appreciated. I am not able to catch them to take to vet. Tried doing that a while ago but the tranquiliser supplied by vet did not work - so they never went!  Are abandonned/feral cats very common?

Kitten fosters are usually short term, a few days to maybe a month.

Can it be a short term foster or could it also be longer term?
