 Hi your advise please.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I want to buy a bike it will only be for occasional use,  its been a few years since I was last in the saddle so do not want to spend too much money just in case.

What are the main features I should look for?

Also I am only 5" 2 would I be able to get a large child’s bike?

Many Thanks

It depends what you want to do with it.

Shopping and toddling around? or something more sporty?

Decathlon sell what they call VTC bikes whiich are OK for around town or tow paths, but not mountain bike tracks in the hills.  A VTC bike has enough gears for coping with hills but larger wheels like a road bike.

Even if you are short, it is important that the bike is not too small.  You are probably better off with a small adult bike.  If you havent ridden for a while, a proper sized bike will seem too big when you try it in the shop.
