I cycled Le Havre to Nice & then around Corsica. Took basic repair kit, spare tube 2 litre water bottles, packed stuff in bin liners inside the panniers. Carefully planned route to minimise hills. Stayed in Chambre d'Hote & cheap hotels. Looked for accommodation at about 3pm at Tourist Offices & they did the phoning round for 2 Euros. Averaged 110 miles per day. For best advice contact/join the CTC - www.ctc.org.uk. They have a library of routes cycled by members over the years which is worth you checking. E mail me direct if you want any more. PS good cycling shorts are vital!

I'm cycling Monaco to Caen, enroute to Glasgow, starting 18July.

Advice ..... lots of Savlon.
Tips - Carbo Drinks & Energy food .... lots of them.  Your problem will be finding water sources.
Route - Grenoble, Digne, Lyon, Nevers, Orleans
