As you might have guessed, there was definitely an orange tint to the snow in many places.  The sand had the unfortunate effect of acting like a brake, especially on the flat traverses.  In retrospect, it's probably better no one took me up on my offer, I would have felt bad coming back from that outing had I talked someone into it other than myself!

What colour was the snow? Serious question - I wonder whether the mountains got as much sand as we got on the coast.

Well, the Ski Bus got diverted to Auron, but I did make it there and back!  There was tons of snow, unfortunately it was mushy and there was tons of fog to go along with it.

Hopefully, I can make it to Isola next time under clear and powedery conditions!
