CASTILLA-LA MANCHA (Spain)

Maybe no one will ever know if they were giants or windmills, but if any Spaniard is sure of something it is that Castilla-La Mancha is one of the sadly undervalued regions of Spain. Here is some meaningful insight into why this fantastic gem should never be underrated. Don Quixote’s homeland is a central region of Spain, divided into five provinces: Toledo, Guadalajara, Albacete, Cuenca and Ciudad Real, being Toledo the capital and Albacete the largest city.

Additionally, Toledo has been celebrated for being the City of the Three Cultures, given that it encompasses the three main Spanish cultural influences: Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Also, let´s not forget that Castilla-La Mancha is a paradise for rural lovers: from the hanging houses of Cuenca to Alcalá del Júcar, named one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.
