GALICIA (Spain)

If Galicia is known for something, it’s for welcoming people and exquisite cuisine, particularly seafood. Wherever you go, there will be always kind gestures and tonnes of spider crabs, mussels and “zamburiñas”. Galicia is a Spanish autonomous community located in the northwest of Spain and is bordered by Asturias and Castile and Leon to the east, and by Portugal to the south.

This beautiful region is divided into four provinces: A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra. Santiago de Compostela is the Galician capital and is celebrated for its Cathedral, an integral World Heritage Site as well as the reputed burial place of the apostle Saint James the Great. The famous Camino de Santiago, instead, known in English as The Way of Saint James, terminates in the Cathedral. If you are not still impressed by its rich culture, maybe you should read a little bit about Cape Finisterre, considered by the Romans to be the end of the world.
