MURCIA (Spain)

It’s said that Murcia is all about relaxing on the beach while sipping a cocktail under the blazing sun. But, more than a cliché, the Region of Murcia is a gift to the senses. Located in south-eastern Spain and bordered by Valencia, Castilla-La Mancha, and Andalusia, Murcia comprises 250km of coastline, the famous Costa Cálida.

However, its inland is mostly agricultural, particularly vineyards. The capital, also called Murcia, is the largest city and stands out because of its Gothic/Baroque Cathedral. The port city of Cartagena, instead, was founded by the Carthaginians during the Roman period, around 220 BC. The Roman theatre and Casa de la Fortuna, a villa full of rich mosaics and murals, are unique places that every Expat must visit.
